Project Background: Why do supermarkets need to upgrade their lighting
This supermarket has been serving local residents for 8 years, offering a full range of products including fresh fruits and vegetables, meat and seafood, packaged snacks and household necessities. With the expansion of the store's product line, its outdated lighting system has become a bottleneck hindering the development of supermarkets.
- Fresh produce looks unattractive: Low color rendering makes fruits and vegetables appear dull, meat loses its natural rose color, and seafood looks lifeless, directly leading to a decline in sales of the most profitable fresh produce segment.
- Uneven lighting and energy waste: The bright spots near the ceiling and the dark corners of the shelf aisles make it difficult for customers to find products, and excessive energy consumption leads to monthly electricity bills exceeding 650 euros.
- Inflexible and difficult to maintain: Fixed lighting fixtures make it impossible to adjust the light angles of new shelf layouts or promotional displays. Damaged bulbs require time-consuming disassembly, increasing labor costs and disrupting the operation of stores
- Poor customer comfort: The dazzling light from outdated lamps can cause eye fatigue and shorten the average time customers stay.
The supermarket's goal is clear: to install a flexible and energy-efficient track lighting system to enhance product display, reduce costs, and require minimal maintenance.
We have designed a lighting solution for a specific area, using commercial-grade track lights and three complementary types of track lights, each tailored to the unique needs of different supermarket areas. This method ensures that each area is properly illuminated and maximizes energy efficiency
Aluminum tracks were chosen because of their durability, compatibility and ease of installation. We built the entire lighting system on aluminum tracks
- Track design: According to the actual layout of the supermarket, the track length is customized. The surface of the track is matte white and installed on the existing ceiling of the supermarket. They are made of corrosion-resistant aluminium and can withstand the humid environment of fresh produce regions and the variable temperatures in Romania.
- Compatibility and flexibility: The track is fully compatible with our track spotlights, floodlights and linear lights, allowing for tool-free installation and adjustment. L-shaped connectors, T-shaped connectors and X-shaped connectors enable us to assemble tracks to adapt to the irregular layout of supermarkets, covering each shelf aisle and functional area, and meeting the demand for customized tracks in supermarkets.
- Safe and durable: The seamless aluminum structure is dust-proof and easy to clean, which is crucial for the supermarket environment with high foot traffic and frequent cleaning.
2. Track spotlights: Highlight fresh and high-profit products
We use track spotlights as the main focus lighting for the most important areas of the supermarket
- Fresh meat section: 18W high color rendering LED track spotlights, 3000K warm white light. The narrow beam Angle focuses the light on fruits, vegetables and meats, restoring their natural colors and making them look fresh and inviting. Anti-glare lenses eliminate dazzling light, ensuring customer comfort while highlighting product details
- Promotional Display: 20W track spotlights with adjustable beam angles (15°-60°), allowing supermarkets to focus the light on seasonal promotions or high-profit items. The fact that no tools are needed for adjustment means that staff can reposition the lights within minutes for new promotions.
3. Track floodlights: Uniform illumination of shelf aisles
The use of track floodlights provides uniform and extensive lighting for supermarket shelf aisles and daily necessities areas, solving the problems of dark corners and uneven light.
- Shelf aisle: 25W LED track floodlights with a 60° beam Angle, installed on the tracks above each shelf aisle. Soft and even light ensures that every product from top to bottom on the shelves is clearly visible, making it easier for customers to find what they need.
- Daily Necessities Section: 22W track floodlights, 4000K neutral white light, provide bright and clear illumination, highlighting product packaging and details without distorting colors. It is an ideal choice for general lighting in supermarkets.
4. Track linear light: Environmental lighting for high-flow areas
The linear track lights provide ambient lighting for the main passageways, checkout areas and entrances of the supermarket, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere while ensuring safety.
- Main passage and entrance: 12W LED track linear lights, installed along the length of the main passage and above the entrance. The slender and understated design blends seamlessly with the ceiling, while the soft and continuous light guides the flow of customers
- Checkout area: 10W track linear lights, 4000K warm white light, reducing glare at the checkout counter, creating a comfortable environment for both customers and staff during checkout.
