Core objective:

• Replace the original cracked and yellowed ceiling with a durable, aesthetically pleasing and uniform surface
• Upgrade the lighting to eliminate glare, improve uniformity, and support multi-scenario requirements
• Create a flexible lighting layout to accommodate the reconfiguration of the office
• Enhance the high-end image of the space while maintaining cost-effectiveness

Project difficulties

• Ceiling degradation: The existing gypsum board ceiling is severely cracked and yellowed, with exposed wires, which is unattractive and does not meet modern fire safety standards.
• Low lighting efficiency: Outdated fluorescent tubes cause uneven, dazzling light and frequent bulb replacement. Long working hours can lead to eye fatigue and a decline in attention.
• Lack of flexibility in layout: Fixed lighting equipment cannot adapt to the constantly changing needs of the office (for example, open workstations, meeting groups, private focus areas).

Design details

• Profile selection: We used 6063-T5 stretched ceiling aluminum profiles, with a matte white surface that matches the PVC film, creating the effect of a "floating ceiling".
• PVC film selection: Choose a 0.15mm thick white PVC film with a matte finish. It will not turn yellow due to office lighting and dust, ensuring long-term brightness.

• Low weight and high strength: The weight of aluminium profiles is 60% lighter than that of traditional ceiling materials, eliminating the load risk of building structures.
• Low maintenance: PVC film is easy to clean with a soft cloth and does not require repair for over 10 years.

The open-plan office (500 square meters) is the core of the workspace and requires balanced soft ambient light, uniform general lighting, and precise working lighting for workstations. Our solution meets all the requirements while maintaining a smooth and tidy appearance

Lighting layout and product application:

• Basic atmosphere: By installing led light strips in the reserved slots of the stretched ceiling aluminum material, a floating suspended light effect is created, softening the overall lighting, reducing ceiling glare, and adding a modern touch to the minimalist design. The light strip adopts 24V low voltage, ensuring energy efficiency (80% lower than fluorescent lamps) and eliminating safety hazards.
• General lighting: Magnetic stretched ceiling aluminum materials are selected, and modular magnetic linear lights are installed on the aluminum materials to provide uniform basic lighting throughout the open area.
